Safety

In general, the island is quite safe for both men and women traveling alone. There is not specifically a dangerous area that it is not recommended to visit, however, keep in mind that you always need to be very careful of your personal belongings. For example, if you go swimming, try not to have valuable things with you or to not leave your belongings unattended for a long time. Also be very careful in crowded places, such as when queuing to get on the ferry, since despite being areas that have security personnel and surveillance cameras, many people have reported pickpocketers.
