Find Peace and Relaxation in Isla Mujeres

by user

Finding a moment to slow down, take a deep breath and relax is an essential part of any trip; and on the island, you can find multiple scenarios to do this. Here is a list of our favorite activities and places to reconnect with nature and with yourself, while enjoying the harmony and beauty of this magical place.

Sunrise walks in Playa Norte

This famous beach is one of the 20 most beautiful beaches in the world, and of course, it can get crowded. However, if you get up early you will be among the first to visit it; its beauty is so great that it is enough to just walk around, breathe in the salty air and listen to the sounds of the birds to feel the peace inside you.

Meditation and Sound Healing by WU WAVE.

In this space for personal connection, you will listen to different musical instruments that have healing properties due to the frequencies of their sounds, which harmonize the cells of your body on a mental, physical and emotional level.
Bells, Tibetan bowls, sansula and gong are some of the instruments that you can enjoy during therapy. The sessions are carried out individually, in pairs, or in a group, and have a cost of 120 USD (approximately 2,400 pesos) for an hour and a half.

Yoga at The Tree House

This yoga studio is located on a tree-height platform in Playa Norte, where you can enjoy an impressive view of the Caribbean Sea. They offer daily classes at 9 am (except Sundays), and no reservation is necessary, you can just show up and take the class, which costs 200 pesos (10 USD) per person. An excellent recommendation is to bring a bathing suit with you to take a dip right after finishing the exercise and start your day with lots of energy.

Visit Punta Sur

This part of the island offers you an excellent opportunity to clear your mind. You can find quiet spots to meditate, and enjoy the spectacular views of the sea from the cliffs; just going for a walk while admiring its beauty and listening to the sound of the waves will have a calming effect on you. It is also a very important energy point since it was the special place that the Mayans designated to build the temple of Ixchel, the Mayan goddess of fertility. We recommend you visit it either at sunrise or sunset since there is not much shade available in the area.

The island itself has a very special magic and its own way of calming the spirit. I hope that when you visit it you experience all the good vibrations it has to offer and it makes you want to return.
